Show only the past 5 events on home page

Hi, I would add a small section on a home page and show only say, the past 5 events. They could click on another link (that I made) to take them to the full events page where all the events would be, but I would to show only the most recent events up to a certain amount on the home page. Is this possible?

You can do this by editing the appropriate theme template and using one of
