New filter field for search form

Is it possible to remove the first field (event name) and add a new field, which would allow me to select past or current/future events?

I’m using the function eo_get_event_search_form() to display the search form on a custom template file archive-event.php

I’ve checked the shorcode which does the same form, but didn’t see an option to add such field.
