Hi Stephen,
We’re using the Pro plugin on a site launched today. We did a test payment via PayPal and all was well.
Now we’ve publicised the site, people are signing up, but we can see a fair few ‘pending’ status’ by the same people, who then go on to make a confirmed booking. So they would have say 5 rows on the booking screen: pending, pending, pending, pending, confirmed. Note this isn’t everyone, just a couple of bookees.
A couple of questions:
- Any idea what is going on with the pendings?
- If we change the ‘Reserve Pending Tickets’ to unchecked (it’s currently checked),
will this retrospectively free up those tickets?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi Chris,
This will happen whenever the user clicks “book” and the booking form validates, but for whatever reason they do not complete the booking process (i.e. the paypal checkout).
Yes, if you change that option, then it will free up the pending tickets. The “Reserve pending tickets” option is there for situations where there might be plausible be a wait between the user completing the booking, and the booking be confirmed, that is, paid for (i.e. offline bookings).

That’s great, thanks for the info.

Hi there,
We’re also experiencing hiccups with this. We do not want to receive notifications if someone books and then does not follow through with the Paypal payment.
I need to know:
(1) How can they automatically be reminded they need to pay
(2) At what point do they get redirected to the thank you page (if that is set up in the configuration).
Thanks a lot
Elizabeth

Hi Shannon,
There is no reminder to pay feature. If the user does not complete the booking it will stay at pending. If you ensure that pending bookings do not reserve seats then this won’t matter (see bookings settings tab).
Regarding the thank you page, they are redirected after payment is complete,
