No emails send

No emails are send out, not to the administrator (notifying that a booking took place) and neither to the person making the booking.
We installed the plugin WP Mail Logging, but it will not activate. We receive the error: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /var/www/vhosts/toerismevosselaar.be/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-logging/WPML_Email_Log_List.php on line 88”
What else could we do to figure what is going wrong and how to solve this issue?

Hi Stefan,
That’s odd, I’ve never had problems with that plug-in. You may want to try re-installing it again, or using an older version.
Alternatively you can use the plug-in: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/. This won’t log emails, but allows you to send a test e-mail (you don’t need to use SMTP). If the test e-mail is not received then you know the issue is with the server sending email. If that’s the case, you may wish to use SMTP to use an external service (such as G-Mail or Sendgrid etc ) or talk to your hosts.
