    Hello Everyone,

I have been struggling to get my IPN confirmation from PayPal to properly update bookings from “Pending” to “Confirmed”. All my settings are right, both at PayPal Sandbox (have enabled IPN and set the listener url correctly.) Still, bookings continue to be stuck on “Pending”. Just sharing this here in case anyone had and solved IPN issues and has any useful tips. I used to be at Hostgator but moved to Site5 hosting. So far, the same issue at both hosts.

Thanks very much. for taking the time.

    Hi Bond,

I just wanted to follow up here. I sent you an email regarding this issue last week, but haven’t had a reply. Is this issue still on going?

    Hi Bond,

I just wanted to follow up on this thread since our discussions a few weeks ago.

We discovered that bookings (in sandbox mode) were not auto-confirming because the server did not support HTTPS connections via TLS 1.2. From 28th February this a requirement of PayPal’s sandbox service, and this will be extended to their live service in June as part of an upgrade in security for their services. I have already contacted your host in this instance to enquire as to whether they have to plans to update their servers, but I’d encourage you to contact them as well.

I’ve since posted this article relating to PayPal’s security update: http://wp-event-organiser.com/blog/announcements/paypal-security-update/

    Hi Stephen,

Thanks for your response and support. I will contact the host as well. Adding an additional voice can only help let them see the urgency. Overall, I’m glad this is a PayPal Https protocol and server TLS setting issue, as opposed to one needing to edit CURL code.
