Hi. I’ve just renewed my licence to see if you can help with a q-tip issue I’m having on the event_map. Each marker needs to be clicked twice in order for the qtip to display. Not a double-click but two separate clicks. For example I can click 5 separate markers once and nothing happens. I can then click any of these markers again and the relevant qtip displays.

    Example here: http://www.myeloma.org.uk/how-we-can-help/meet-others/myeloma-support-groups/find-a-support-group-new/

I’ve tried changing themes to no avail.

    Hi Stuart,

When I first click a marker I get an error in .../themes/flyingnews/js/all.js?ver=4.2.4 :

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'call' of undefined

That error doesn’t appear on subsequent clicks (on the same marker), so this seems to be tally with what you’re seeing.

You mentioned you switched themes, which theme did you switch to? If you try clicking markers with that new theme, do you get an error message in your browser’s console?

    Hi Stephen
    I’ve tried with the7 v1 and I get a similar error.

    themes/dt-the-7/js/plugins.min.js?ver=4.4.13:1
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘call’ of undefined

Same result. First click, nothing, second click opens qtip.

I’ve also got a standard google map on the site with qtips that works fine. Click on any row in the table to populate the map.

    Hi Stuart,

That second map doesn’t use qtip – it uses the standard Google modal. These used to be very ugly which is why qtip is used instead.

Anyway, I suspect that the two themes have the same issue. At least the currently active theme is using an outdated version of isotope 1.5.19. See this thread about isotope and qtip: http://craigsworks.com/projects/forums/showthread.php?tid=4342.

The latest version of isotope is 2.2.2. Now I don’t know for certain that that issue has since been fixed, but it seems probable. The underlying cause is that isotope uses (used?) an outdated version of imagesloaded, so it depends on whether isotope 2.2.2 uses a later version of imagesloaded.

(Assuming so) the solution is then to update isotope to 2.2.2. But this is a propriety piece of software which is bundled with that theme, so would have to ask the theme developer to repurchase a license and update their theme, or fork the theme yourself.

An easier solution might be to just download the latest version of imagesloaded and load that ontop of the theme’s version. This thread demonstrates how someone has done that: http://wp-event-organiser.com/forums/topic/map-qtip-conflict-with-isotope/

    I hope that helps!

Thanks Stephen that sorted my problem out. Legend.

I opted for the easier solution.
