It’d be really handy to have a copy event facility so that I can quickly add events that don’t recur but are at the same venue or have the same category etc.

There’s a plug-in, ‘duplicate post’ which (so I’m told) works with Events. (See this thread: http://wp-event-organiser.com/forums/topic/copy-event/).
I may add this feature in the future as it has been requested a couple of times, but the for time-being at least, it seems that plug-in does everything that’s required.
