I’ve used Events Organiser Pro for some time with great success thanks but in the last week or so, the confirmation emails have been going to spam, certainly when sent to Google address (gmail or GSuite).

I understand that this may not be a plug-in issue but the email headers show that the sending server and address is permitted [google.com: best guess record for domain of domain.co.uk@mailserver.co.uk designates 111.222.333.444 as permitted sender].

I use the default email templates and wonder if it is the html that is causing the problem.

Grateful for any ideas or similar experiences.

    Hi Alastair,

What server are you using to send the e-mails? Depending on your hosting setup, some email providers will block the e-mails. This is particularly true if the site is hosted on AWS. An easy way around this is to use an example SMTP email server such SendGrid (you can even use a Google account). This is fairly easy to do with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Emails can also be blocked due to their content, and the recipient’s spam filters. If you want to change the HTML mark-up of the email, you can follow this guide to create your own template: http://docs.wp-event-organiser.com/bookings/custom-email-templates/

I’m using the Hosting provider’s mailservers and they have been absolutely fine. The emails are going to the recipient and until a few days ago I had no problem. Gmail is now marking the mails as junk and they are not the only service to do so. I was wondering if anyone else had the issue. Presumably the standard emails are falling foul of revised Gmail filters.
