Hi, I’ve got several courses on my calendar, for which I use the option to repeat dates for however long. The cap that I’ve entered for these courses doesn’t seem to work and an unlimited amount of bookings can be made. The cap works fine for individual events and they say that they’re sold out when the cap is reached. Can you please advise? Thanks, Jane

Hi Jane,
Are you selling by date or series?
If the former, the cap should apply to each date individually. It also shouldn’t be possible to sell an unlimited number of tickets as you are limited by the ticket spaces too.
Do you offer multiple tickets? If so, is it possible to make an individual ticket sell out.
Also, just point out that for recurring events when selling by date, if a date sells out it will be disabled. When a user lands on the booking form the next available date is preselected. So that could give the impression the event isnt selling out as the date being booked for is shifting.

Hi Stephen,
I’d like to sell by series, as what I’m offering are courses, and each one has only one type of ticket.
So for example, I select 4 dates over 4 weeks and I want a total cap of 10. The ticket is for the whole 4 weeks.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Jane

Hi Jane,
Yes that’s possible (the setting for selling individual dates or the entire event series is in Settings > Event Organiser > Bookings).
Also, with one ticket, the event cap is entirely redundant. Sales of the ticket will be limited by the number of spaces of that ticket. So simply create a ticket for the event with 10 spaces.
If this doesn’t appear to be ‘selling out’, you may want to double check whether bookings are confirmed and whether you reserve places for ‘pending’ bookings (if you aren’t, then pending bookings won’t mean available tickets are reduced).
